Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the notification for the Engineering Services Examination (ESE/IES) 2025. A total of 474 vacancies have been announced for various engineering disciplines. Interested candidates can apply online from 26 September 2025 to 16 October 2025.

Eligibility & Age Limit (as on 01/01/2026)

  • Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed or be in the final year of a Degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronics & Telecommunication) from a recognized university.
  • Age Limit:
    • Minimum Age: 21 Years
    • Maximum Age: 30 Years
  • Age relaxation as per UPSC rules.

Selection Process & Exam Pattern

The examination will be conducted in three stages:

  • Stage-I: Preliminary Examination (Objective Papers)
    • Paper-I: General Studies and Engineering Aptitude (200 Marks)
    • Paper-II: Engineering Discipline Specific (300 Marks)
  • Stage-II: Main Examination (Conventional Papers)
    • Two conventional type papers in the Engineering Discipline.
  • Stage-III: Personality Test / Interview
